The Zoom of Doom
Jamie Fitzgibbons, Principal, CRS Web Designs

It is the dreaded “Pinch and zoom” on a mobile device. Pinch and zoom is poison for a business’s mobile web presence. “Pinch and zoom” could be synonymous with “annoyance and frustration”. Not to mention the dreaded finger sweep in the middle of a sentence. Years ago the user might be more forgiving when trying to find the businesses phone number on a mobile phone. Currently, it is the zoom of doom. The user will leave the site within seconds.

Over 60% of searches are done on mobile, and of that 60% of people will leave the website if it is not mobilized. I think all of us remember clumsily sweeping, pinching and zooming around mobile phones workerscompensationlawyer-philadelphia.com. Surprisingly enough, there are still many web-sites that are hemorrhaging potential sales because they are frustrating the mobile user with outdated technology.

I’m probably preaching to choir at this point, but I’ve found this style of web design still exists more frequently than one would think howells ac. In many Boston businesses I’ve found these sites are still lingering around. If you think your site has the dreaded Zoom of Doom and the infamous ½ sentence swipe, drop us a line and we’ll get you up to date.

Best,

Jamie
